Tuesday, July 13 Make sure of the more important things.—Phil. 1:10.

Tuesday, July 13

Make sure of the more important things.—Phil. 1:10.

These important things include the sanctification of Jehovah’s name, the fulfillment of his purposes, and the peace and unity of the congregation. (Matt. 6:9, 10; John 13:35) When we build our life around these important things, we prove that we love Jehovah. The apostle Paul also said that we must “be flawless.” This does not mean that we must be perfect. Jehovah will view us as flawless if we do our very best to deepen our love and make sure of the more important things. One way in which we show our love is by doing our utmost to avoid stumbling others. The instruction to avoid stumbling others is really a warning. How might we stumble someone? We could do so by our choice of entertainment, our choice of clothing, or even our choice of employment. What we do may not be wrong in itself. But if the choices we make offend someone else’s conscience and he or she is stumbled, that matters.—Matt. 18:6. w19.08 10 ¶9-11

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

Such a warning to put things into prospective , what is important ? The sanctification of Jehovah’s name , having faith and staying close to our brothers and sisters !

better to deny ourselves something that is of no real importance then to stumble someone , but also on the other hand not to be looking to criticise others for things that are personal conscience matters .

always looking at the bigger picture , the looking to the ‘real’ life rather then the here and now .

preserving our relationships with our spiritual brothers and sisters above all things .

Sanctification of Jehovah’s holy name: When we select our choice of entertainment we are choosing what to fill our mind with.

To consider our love for the brothers will help us choose things that honor Jehovah.

To be flawless: We must learn to apply (the brakes) self control & do what the Bible teaches us.

To promote the peace & unity of the congregation: is to love & unselfishly considering their consciences.

How do we keep from stumbling anyone?  We put on the Christ and build one another up. We support one another as best as we can. We value peace with our brother more than all else. We show by our words and deeds that we care for one another and in this way we fulfill the law of the Christ.

The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah

While our choices may stumble someone, is it not also important for each person to learn the skill of being difficult to offend?

Yes I have seen in life that people can offend others on trivial matters.   Some people might make life easier and more enjoyable if they developed a more humble attitude about their personal opinion instead of thinking that they are absolutely right.
